With an unsteady childhood, not knowing the truth behind the secrets, and being obsessed with the media, these motives appear to be the drive behind the mass killings of Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy justifies as a human monster due to his crimes as a serial killer while demonstrating the importance of a nurturing environment, substantiating that real human monsters are more dreadful and fear provoking than those mentioned in fiction, such as Patrick Bateman. While in college, he formed a relationship with a girl from Florida who attended college the same college as him. They later broke up after a long and hard two year re lationship. After his breakup is when the public started to notice girls missing where he was located, nothing but a coincidence at the time. His victims resembled his girlfriend in ways such as attractive, long dark hair, and smart. â€Å"Bundy killed as many as 50 young women in Utah, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, and Florida from 1973 to 1978, making Bundy one of the most grotesquely prolific serial killers† (Lamar). He had four trials before his execution and later, leaving his victims’ families at peace with knowing their relatives killer is gone. According to Jacob Lamar, â€Å"In December 1977, while jailed in Colorado awaiting trial for the murder of a nurse, Bundy asked policemen which state would be most likely to execute a killer. Bundy escaped jail by â€Å"losing 30 pounds to fit through a small opening he had made in the ceiling of his cell and climbing out.
